چکیده
Solution Sketch. This is similar to something done in Lecture 7. Let R be the relation that defines an NP search problem. Define the language L that contains all the pairs (x, z) such that z is the prefix of a solution zz′ such that (x, zz′) ∈ R. Under the assumption that P = NP, there is a polynomial time algorithm A that decides L. Now, given x, we can construct a solution y such that (x, y) ∈ R, if such a solution exists, one bit a time using A. (See notes of lecture 7 for more details.)

Coding theory, cryptography and cryptographic protocols - exercises with solutions
The main goal of this work is to present detailed solutions of exercises that have been submitted to students of the course Coding, cryptography and cryptographic protocols, given by prof. RNDr. Jozef Gruska, DrSc. in 2006 as homeworks. This way a handbook of solved exercises from coding theory and cryptography is created. Ahead of each set of new exercises we include main concepts and results ...
متن کاملSolutions to selected exercises and additional examples for my book Numerical Methods for Evolutionary Differential Equations
In this file I have collected solutions to selected exercises appearing in my book. Some of these solutions extend beyond what is strictly required in the question. Others leave details out. These solved exercises serve as additional examples for the text as well. It is seriously recommended that you try to solve the posed problems before taking a peak at the answers. This file represents work ...
متن کاملIntroduction to Distributed Algorithms: Solutions and Suggestions
This booklet contains (partial) solutions to most of the exercises in the book Introduction to Distributed Algorithms [Tel00]. Needless to say, the book as well as this document contain numerous errors; please find them and mail them to me! I have not included answers or hints for the following exercises and projects: 2.3, 2.9, 2.10, 3.2, 3.7, 6.16, 10.2, 12.8, 12.10, 12.11, 14.6, 17.5, 17.9, 1...
متن کاملUsing Software Testing Techniques for Efficient Handling of Programming Exercises in an e-Learning Platform
e-Learning has become a major field of interest in recent years, and multiple approaches and solutions have been developed. A typical form of e-learning application comprises exercise submission and assessment systems that allow students to work on assignments whenever and where they want (i.e., dislocated, asynchronous work). In basic computer science courses, programming exercises are widely ...
متن کاملOutlines of Solutions to Selected Homework Problems
This handout contains solutions and hints to solutions for many of the STA 6505 homework exercises from Categorical Data Analysis, second edition, by Alan Agresti (John Wiley, & Sons, 2002). It should not be distributed elsewhere without permission of the author. Additional solutions for odd-numbered exercises are available at the website for the text, http://www.stat.ufl.edu/∼aa/cda/cda.html. ...
متن کاملrules for solving exercises
General rules for solving exercises This is a theory course, which means: if an exercise does not explicitly say \you do not need to prove your answer" or \justify intuitively", then a formal proof is always required. All exercises and their solutions, no matter whether they are graded or regular/optional ones, are part of the material relevant for the two exams. Some of the exercises are marke...
